1st of May, Tues: As I learn more about the teaching profession, I am starting to regret entering into this field. Many people admire the salary teachers in Malaysia get. Teachers are paid much higher than many other fresh graduates and the number of holidays they have annually totally outnumber the holidays of the office workers. I would say the above are the two major factors why many fresh graduates from other fields and also school leavers have decided to venture into the teaching profession. However, these are only the surface of the profession. Once you step into the ‘trap’, you can’t even wait to run for your lives! You face never-ending noises, troublemakers and challenges once you step into the school compound. Other than that, you also have to look out for the ‘cat’ who would pounce on you abruptly and nail down all your weaknesses. Think that’s the end of your life as a teacher? NO! Well I guess every profession has it own challenges or the “dark side” that you need to deal with. But I always adore and respect all teachers in Malaysia because they are molding the future of the nation. That’s very nobel thing to do. As for me, every night I’m monitoring my kids to finish up their school works given by their teachers.
