I appreciate for the greatest information that you provided here. Believe that my readers will probably heading to WavePad to give it a try and so do I. And we will definitely look for your solution if there's any problem by then. ^_^ cheers

Check out my <a href="http://www.podcastgearguide.com/node/7" rel="nofollow">Podcast</a> on a similar software.

I had tried Audacity before. It is quite user friendly and is worth a look for amateur users. However, if you want a little more power - especially in cleaning up noise - i'll recommend WavePad.

WavePad allows you to sample a length of "silence" in your audio recording and implement a spectral noise removal based on the base values of the "silence" signal. Any hissing & humming can be easily removed with this software.

However, if what you need is a simple multi-track mixing software, then Audacity is your thing. However, Audacity lacks ASIO support that many high-end sound cards use (cos of the fact that Audacity is an open source software), so you're limited in terms of multi-track recording. You're better off with Ableton Live / Pro-Tools.
