Even as phones get more powerful and screens get slightly bigger, there is widespread awareness that mobile Web-surfing is tolerable at best and utterly impossible at worst. But content providers remain intent on finding ways to make the Web portable, working on the theory that the combination of Internet content and GPS data will create a completely new and potentially lucrative advertising model.
Now Microsoft has joined the fray, announcing on Monday that it is launching a company called ZenZui, which will promote a new “Zooming User Interface” that is designed to streamline and enhance the mobile Web-surfing experience.
