Box.net Announcing Business 2.0 Collaboration BETA

Box.net is now more reliable and become almost as handy when you are away from your computer as your trusted thumb drive—maybe even more so. After few months development, Box.net officially released the Beta of their new collaboration functionality. This feature is as simple as to use that enables you to share any folders with colleagues, friends, and family who also have Box.net accounts.

How to use:
A new right-click option has been enabled on this feature. Just simply invite collaborators to any folder and those users will see the same folder appear in their accounts. And also, when a new file is added, each subscribed user will receive a notification either by email or in their Updates tab.

Collaborators can be chosen as “Viewer” (allow to view) or “Editor” (allow to edit) before you send out the invitation. And then give the send-out file a description for easy notification to the collaborators.

More, collaboration is fully compatible with OpenBox, so you can edit documents in a shared folder with Zoho, photos with Picnik, and more! Everyone can participate in as many folders as they’re invited to. Free accounts, however, will only be able to create 3 collaboration folders.

A movie link brought me to this download storage website and this is the biggest online storage webhosting website I’ve seen so far, actually they are providing UNLIMITED storage. I’m not quite sure if I see it correctly but who cares? As long as we get our free stuff, their communities start growing and that’s the way we share profit. You know what I mean if I tell you about their site statistics of over 1.5 millions files totaling 48+ TB of space.

Allow user to upload as many files as you like in any format and there’s no LIMITATION storage in each member account.
Uploading file can be up to 1GB.
Any illegal content will be deleted.

In addition of this, a blog domain hosting by filefront.com is also provided for those who are looking for a simple editor method but yet powerful. You can also navigate to add blog, photo, file and video. The only limitation I can see there is don’t upload a large file if your connection speed is too slow or inactive as you will probably end up with a hanging screen after 10 hours processing. Well, I believe that is not possible to happen for a broadband user if you have a stable connection.

Box.net with an excellent site layout with cool web 2.0 design currently released a plug-in to allow users to save files from Microsoft Office and Facebook directly to Box account.

Plug-in for Microsoft Office

Click the link to install the plug-in
BoxNetOfficeAddinSetup.msi
A “save to Box.net” link will appear in the “add-in” section of each Microsoft Office application. Click on it and enter email and password.

File will be uploaded Box.net account.

File will be located under “My Files” > “Office on Demand Files” in your Box.net

Plug-in for Facebook
Over 30,000 Facebook users have added the new Box Files application to their profile.
