Back in 2005, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. had unveiled an imaginative electric car concept, Nissan Pivo, in partnership with renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami at the company’s Nissan Ginza Gallery in downtown Tokyo. The feature of this concept car features an innovative cabin which can revolve 360 degrees, eliminating the need to reverse. That is to say, the driver of Pivo doesn’t have to reverse this super flexible car, but just reverse its cabin to the direction he or she wants to head to. With this unique feature and it’s compact body, Pivo is simply easy to operate. This three-seater car has an Around View Monitor which reduces blind spots by displaying the outside surroundings on screens mounted on the inside of the car – located on either side of the windshield. In addition, a dash-mounted infrared (IR) commander allows the driver to operate the navigation and stereo systems with mere finger movements without letting go of the steering wheel. Wonder why this fantastic technology hasn’t reached Malaysia yet. If this car is released in Malaysia, we could have more parking lots and less traffic jams.
