Plug-ins: Recommended for Wordpress

There are probably many bloggers had written about stuff that must have for a wordpress user. So I’m glad if you could spend some time letting me to share my opinions on all the plug-ins that work for me.

Akismet Comment Spam Killer

  • A Must-Have
  • Plug-in comes along with Wordpress
  • Activate it, go Control Panel > Presentation > Plug-in
  • To prevent spammers
  • API key required in Wordpress account

    • Sidebar Widget

  • After installation, activate it in the plug-in section and tab to Presentation > Sidebar Widgets to edit
  • Drag-and-drop items on sidebar without editing PHP file
  • Themes must be a Sidebar Widget ready

    • Executable PHP Widget

  • For some feature sites for Text Link Ads and my “Must Read” (Most Popular Content) required a PHP call

    • Popularity Contest

  • Configurable point values to determine popularity
  • Stats (view, comments, tracked) to show according to popularity for all posts
  • Change the title to “Must Read” like I do can make a big catchy for people eyes


    • Related Post

  • Output a series of “related” entries based on keyword matching
  • Choose to insert anywhere in content for keeping readers on blog
  • Options to exclude excerpt and password protected pages

    • Recent Comments

  • Comes along in Sidebar Widgets option
  • Works like Related Post Plug-in
  • Brings up your other posts on your sidebar after someone posts a comment

    • Terong Related Post

  • Choose to display any other posts instead of keyword matching
  • Numbers of post to display are unlimited but displaying too many will be too messy. :P

  • A Must-Have for Money Blogger
  • Edit Adsense without leaving homepage
  • Obeying to the TOS rules of Google that only 3 Google ads are allowed to display on a page
  • Ads disappear on a front page if numbers of Adsense exceed

    • Feedburner Feed Replacement

  • Install FeedBurner to Wordpress
  • Directs 100% of feed traffic through FeedBurner
  • Converts any existing subscribers from the old feed to FeedBurner

  • Maximize your Google index and search engine rankings
  • Choose to show your blog title before your blog name
